Terms of Service

tong.ovri.ai is a fortune-telling (saju) entertainment service featuring fictional reading personas, offered in Korean, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese. Its core features are:

• Saju readings: you submit a short profile (name or nickname, gender, relationship status, calendar type, and date and — optionally — time of birth), and the Service calculates your Four Pillars (사주) chart and generates an AI-written interpretive reading.
• AI character chat: a fictional character voiced by AI, Myeongtong Bosal (명통보살) — a fortune-teller of early twentieth-century Seoul who counted with her eyes closed — chats with you based on your reading.
• Myeongtong Bosal, her portrait, and the surrounding backstory (the “Myeongtong Notebook” record, 명통 수첩) are fictional creative works; any resemblance to real persons, living or deceased, is coincidental.

The Service is provided for entertainment and personal-reference purposes only. Fortune-telling readings and AI conversations are not medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal, or financial advice, are not a diagnosis or treatment of any condition, and are not predictions you should rely on when making decisions. AI-generated content can be inaccurate or inapplicable to your situation.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a professional or an emergency service immediately — in the United States, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline); in South Korea, call 109 (자살예방상담전화) or 112/119 in an emergency; in Taiwan, call 1925 (安心專線) or 119 in an emergency; in Hong Kong, call 18111 (Mental Health Support Hotline 情緒通) or 999 in an emergency; in Japan, call いのちの電話 at 0570-783-556 or the Yorisoi Hotline at 0120-279-338, or 110/119 in an emergency.

• You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.
• Some features can be used without an account. You may unlock a full reading and purchase chat credits without signing in; in that case access is tied to the device and link you used, and you can reconnect the purchase to an account by signing in with the email you entered at checkout. Keeping your results across devices requires signing in with a supported provider (such as Google, Kakao, LINE, or Facebook, depending on your region).
• You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. Notify us at hi@slipstride.com if you suspect unauthorized use.

Taking a reading and viewing its preview are free. Paid features include unlocking the full reading (셈 전문), purchasing additional chat turns (“credits”), and an optional monthly subscription.

• Free chat allowances, if offered, are tracked per reading and may be limited per network address, and may replenish after a waiting period.
• Prices, contents, and quantities of paid products are displayed at checkout and may change with notice. Purchased credits are added to your account upon successful payment.
• Credits and unlocked readings are licenses to use features of the Service; they are not money, have no cash value, and are not transferable.
• Subscription (monthly or annual): includes a monthly allotment of chat turns (credited to your account each billing period) and a weekly report delivered on the Service and by email to the address you provide at subscription. It renews automatically each month and your payment method is charged at the start of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from the subscription cancellation section at the bottom of the Refund Policy page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, you keep access until then, and no refund is issued for the remaining period. Subscriptions are tied to a specific unlocked reading; you may hold more than one. Annual plans renew yearly with the same monthly allotment of chat turns reset each month. If a subscription charge is refunded or disputed, the subscription ends immediately and unused benefits from that charge (including remaining chat turns) are revoked.

Payments are processed by third-party payment processors, currently Stripe. We do not collect or store your full card number or bank account details. Your payment information is handled by the processor under its own terms and privacy policy. Prices may be displayed and charged in Korean Won (KRW) or other currencies, and your payment provider may apply currency conversion or fees.

Refunds for paid products are governed by our Refund Policy at tong.ovri.ai/refund (provided in Korean, with a Traditional Chinese translation for reference; the Korean version governs). In summary: unused credits may be refunded within the stated period, partially used purchases may be refunded on a pro-rated basis, and content that has already been consumed or viewed may not be refundable. To request a refund, contact hi@slipstride.com.

You retain ownership of the profile details, concern descriptions, chat messages, and other content you submit (“User Content”). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and process your User Content solely to operate and improve the Service — including transmitting it to the AI providers we use to generate your results and replies. If you create a share link, the shared result (and the conversation, if you choose to include it) becomes viewable by anyone with the link until you stop sharing.

• Do not use the Service in a way that violates any law or the rights of others.
• Do not submit content that is unlawful, infringing, or harmful to others.
• Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service, or circumvent usage limits or payment requirements.
• Do not use automated means to access the Service except as permitted by us.

The Service — including its design, artwork, characters and their backstories (including Myeongtong the pansu), software, and generated reading formats — is owned by Slipstride or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for your User Content, we grant you only a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the Service as intended.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI-GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SLIPSTRIDE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

You may stop using the Service at any time and may request deletion of your account and data by contacting hi@slipstride.com. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service (or any feature) if you violate these Terms or where reasonably necessary to protect the Service or its users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 7, and 9–14) will survive.

We may modify the Service or these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes to the Terms, we will provide notice through the Service (for example, by updating the date above). Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Before filing a claim, you agree to first contact us at hi@slipstride.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to their jurisdiction, except where the law of your place of residence grants you non-waivable consumer protections or venue rights.
